Welcome to Arlington Neighborhood Villages!
A small volunteer group of your Arlington neighbors has come together to create a network of villages throughout Arlington County, Virginia. Villages are community-based, grassroots organizations that provide the support services needed to help older adults stay in their homes and remain active in their communities as long as possible. Even the healthiest and most independent among us have times when a helpful neighbor can make all the difference!
We are establishing a small, non-profit organization — Arlington Neighborhood Villages (ANV) — to coordinate the delivery of volunteer and professional services throughout the county. ANV will provide members with “one-stop shopping” for senior programs and service needs.
Are you interested in a program that can make your own life or your parents’ lives easier down the road? Would you like to make your neighborhood an even better place to live for young and old alike? Want to work on a project that takes advantage of your professional skills either to build your resume or now that you’ve retired? Or are you just looking for a worthwhile endeavor now that the kids are gone?
You can be part of this process — part of making sure that your own neighborhood village will be there for you when you need it the most. Read on for more information, including details on how you can get involved now.
